Biography & Research Abstract

Abstract:

ParaTreeT (Parallel Tree Toolkit) is a framework that enables rapid development of tree-based applications on parallel platforms. This framework will support a variety of space-partitioning methods and the associated trees, including octrees, kd-trees, inside-outside trees, ball trees, R-trees, and their combinations.
Details of data partitioning and communication are hidden from the user -- with ParaTreeT, users will be able to quickly evaluate the relative merits of different trees and algorithms even when applied to large datasets and very computation-intensive applications.

Bio:

I'm a CS+Chemistry major with a deep interest in operating systems development and systems programming. I've built operating systems and compilers from scratch and have written system software for macOS and Linux. I enjoy writing open-source software and exploring novel computing environments, like high-performance supercomputers and low-power embedded systems.
