Applications due: Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 11:59 PM (advisor nominations only)

David J. Kuck Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Award  Computer Science nominees for the ACM award will also be considered for this CS award; a single winner is typically chosen.  This award was established by alumni, friends, and former students in recognition of Professor Emeritus David Kuck's intellectual and leadership contributions. Awards are based on the quality and impact of the PhD thesis.  This award is typically presented in conjunction with the Illinois Computer Science Alumni Awards Ceremony each Spring.
Eligibility: PhD dissertations successfully deposited between October 2021 through (and including) September 2022. Exceptional dissertations completed in September 2021, but too late for submission last year will be considered. Each advisor should nominate no more than one PhD thesis.

Thesis Award  This CS award was established by alumni, friends, and former students in recognition of Professor Emeritus David Kuck's intellectual and leadership contributions. Awards are based on the quality and impact of the M.S. thesis. This award is typically presented in conjunction with the Illinois Computer Science Alumni Awards Ceremony each Spring.
Eligibility: MS degrees conferred between October 2021 and September 2022. Each advisor should nominate no more than one MS thesis.

CRA Outstanding Undergraduate Researcher Award

Applications due: Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 11:59 PM 

This award program recognizes undergraduate students in North American colleges and universities who show outstanding potential in an area of computing research.  The award is primarily about research. While it is expected that successful nominees will have excellent academic records and will have engaged in some form of service (e.g., club leadership, teaching, peer tutoring), excellence in research is the primary consideration. 
Eligibility: Students enrolled as undergraduates in North American colleges or universities in Fall 2022 are eligible.

NSF Graduate Research Fellowship Program

The NSF-GRF is one of the nation's premiere fellowships for graduate study. Fellowships support US citizens, nationals, and permanent residents pursuing research-based master’s and doctoral degrees in the sciences, social sciences, engineering, and mathematics. Seniors as well as students in their first or second year of graduate study may apply.
