Neowin -- The browser was first developed by Marc Andreessen and Eric Bina when they were graduate students at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Unlike earlier web browsers, which showed text and images in separate windows, Mosaic's biggest innovation was that it was capable of showing both text and images in the same window. It made looking at websites like you were reading a magazine page.
