Project Title
POGIL in an Online Environment

Biography & Research Abstract

Abstract:

POGIL, Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning, is a growing teaching style in the classroom that features work among small groups to answer questions and guide learning rather than having a professor lecture. As many classrooms are now moving to online courses, we will look at how to effectively create POGIL learning activities in an online environment.

Bio:

My name is Matt and I started my career in Las Vegas working in the hotel side and then transitioned over to conventions. I enjoyed interacting with the groups and the different challenges every day brought. After losing my position due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I decided to move back home to the midwest. After taking a few class at my local community college, I decided to pivot my career path into one in the CS field. I'm excited to start something new and exciting that features continued growth and opportunities.
