Using Code Semantics in DL models for Code-related Tasks

Biography & Research Abstract

Abstract:

Pre-trained models for programming language have achieved dramatic empirical improvements on a variety of code-related tasks such as code search, code completion, code summarization, etc. However, existing pre-trained models regard a code snippet as a sequence of tokens, while ignoring the inherent structure of code, which provides crucial code semantics and would enhance the code understanding process. The research mainly focuses on using Deep learning models like code2seq, code2vec, CodeBERT etc., to utilize the potential of information inside syntactical structure of code.

Bio:

I'm Daim Armaghan, currently in my senior year of BS Computer Science Program at Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS, Pakistan). I've been really passionate about AI, ML, and its applications. A year ago, I explored Deep learning and Software Engineering and got quite interested in it. Other than academics, I love swimming, football, and gaming. I'm looking forward to pursue a fusion of ML and Software Engineering in this research program.
