Research/Engagement Experience
I have been a CSSTARS for the past 4 semesters, which is the bulk of my research experience. Outside of CSSTARS, I am in/have been part of Girls Who Code, R|P, HackIllinois, and ACM.

My technical interests include System Programming, AI, Computer Architecture, and SWE.

Project Title
Remote Sensing and Deep Learning with TorchGeo

How did I get interested in Computer Science?
I started self-learning CS, as a middle schooler to fill up free time after I had recently quit piano. After learning the basics, I realized how much I liked how computer science was like solving puzzles.

What social interests matter to me?
I am very interested in tackling the problem of climate change to better understand it and hopefully find better ways to counteract it.

What is my most impactful college experience?
My most impactful college experience has been on my time as part of the HackIllinois staff. The countless hours of work that went into creating an event, alongside a group of staff that grew to become some of my closest friends, was very worthwhile.

I like reading, hiking, traveling, baking, listening to music and walking my dog!

Research Description
TorchGeo, a PyTorch open source machine learning tool aims to make machine learning development more compatible with applications of satellite data. The use of machine learning of geospatial datasets can be used to monitor storm patterns, track changes in sea levels, and otherwise monitor and predict the impact of climate change.
