WHAT

Discover AI is a virtual program that offers a hands-on introduction to computer science and artificial intelligence, ethical issues surrounding AI implementation, and tech careers. Students will walk away with ideas for next steps to take in pursuing an academic or career path related to AI.  Discover AI is online over 4 weeks starting Sept 21 and includes asynchronous instruction with flexible scheduling. Total of 8-10 hours time commitment.  No program fees.  

WHO SHOULD PARTICIPATE?

Undergraduate students, particularly those who self-identify with one or more of these groups:

  • Indigenous, Black, Hispanic or Latinx, Pacific Islander, and Southeast Asian students
  • Trans and non-binary students and cis women
  • Low-income students (for example students who receive financial aid)
  • First-generation college students
  • Lesbian, gay, bisexual, and queer students

AI4ALL’s long-term vision is to foster a community of diverse leaders across a variety of disciplines who influence AI in a positive direction. The program is open to all undergraduate students. Discover AI is designed especially for students with limited to none prior computer science or AI experience.  There are no program fees.

AI4ALL Campus Chapters

Interested in building your technical skill set and learning how to implement responsible and effective AI? 

Join us for the AI4ALL Campus Chapters Kick-off meeting via Zoom! Date and time will be posted soon! The meeting will take place on Thursday, September 10 at 6-7 PM (CT).

WHAT

AI4ALL Campus Chapters is a new pilot program co-sponsored by University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and AI4ALL. Through an interdisciplinary approach, you will expand your technical skill set, build a nuanced understanding of ethical and societal implications of AI, and subsequently learn how to implement responsible and effective AI.  To promote persistence along the AI academic path, Campus Chapters gives you:  

  • An opportunity to build community
  • Career development resources
  • A forum to engage with challenging AI projects and develop tangible products to add to your professional portfolio. 

At the Kick-off meeting, you’ll learn more about AI4ALL and how we’ll support you along your academic path to a career in AI.
