The ceremony will include speeches from distinguished alumni, current students, and Dean Rashid Bashir. Each graduate's name will be read as they cross the stage. Dean Bashir and a representative from your department will present each graduate with a diploma cover. On the day of the event, watch live streams, on this Grainger College of Engineering web page.

Doctoral degree candidates are invited to attend but will not be hooded at the event; Doctoral, Bachelor’s, Master’s and Professional (J.D., D.V.M., and M.D.) degree recipients stand as a group at their seats and are recognized by college. This is a dignified ceremony that lasts about two hours. Academic attire is required. The university-wide ceremony will be livestreamed at go.illinois.edu/live.
Note: The University-wide Commencement Ceremony is held each year in May. Many units offer convocation ceremonies or receptions for August and December graduates.

How long do the ceremonies last?
The Computer Science Open House will be active from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM. Alumni and their guests can stop by at anytime.
The Grainger Convocation Ceremony will take approximately two hours.
The University Commencement Ceremony will take approximately two hours.
What should be worn to the ceremonies?
