Subject offerings of new and developing areas of knowledge in computer science intended to augment the existing curriculum. Theoretical foundations of motion planning and perception algorithms, and their implementation in modern robots. Topics include rigid transformations, forward and inverse kinematics, configuration space, motion planning, and task planning. State estimation, Kalman filters and their variants, visual sensing, and 3D mapping. Laboratory assignments will lead to implementation of intelligent autonomous behavior on a hardware platform.
