Research Statement
My field of research is Computational Geometry, subfield of computer science. Computational geometry aims to develop efficient solutions for geometric problems arising in many different fields such as computer graphics, computer vision, and robotics. These solutions are often based on sophisticated techniques drawn from many branches of mathematics and theoretical computer science. CG is a flourishing, mature discipline, but its impact on other areas has been somewhat restrictive because of the wide gap between theory and practice stemmed by the non-trivial problems encountered when trying to implement those algorithms.
