Technical Ambassadors Competition

About

The ChicTech Technical Ambassadors Competition is a tournament in which groups of Illinois high school girls build a technical project for the benefit of a non-profit organization in their community. The final projects are evaluated by a panel of faculty judges and scholarship money is awarded to the winners. The top teams are then invited to a two-day weekend retreat on the UIUC campus. At the Retreat, girls will interact personally with ChicTech volunteers and participate in engaging activities and workshops.

With this competition, ChicTech offers an opportunity and an incentive for girls to realize the satisfaction of applying technology to address community problems. It shows that solving such problems requires creativity and strong interpersonal skills.
