SWAT Post Doc Search

The SWAT hardware resilience research project led by Prof. Sarita Adve at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate. The SWAT project is addressing the problem of system-level reliability for future CMOS technologies, where devices are expected to be unreliable due to a variety of fault sources. The SWAT project has developed novel techniques to design reliable systems from unreliable components at very low cost (see swat.cs.uiuc.edu). The next step is to evaluate these techniques on a multicore FPGA prototype of the SWAT system running a full operating system and realistic applications, and to generalize SWAT to a broader class of faults, multicore systems, and applications. The Postdoctoral Research Associate will work with the SWAT research group to achieve these goals. This project is partly funded by the Gigascale Systems Research Center and has significant interest from industry.

The position is for one year, extendible to a second year based on performance and funding. Salary is commensurate with experience.

For full consideration, please send a cover letter, resume, and 3 professional references via email to Professor Sarita Adve (sadve@illinois.edu). The position will be filled as soon as a suitable candidate is identified.
